Loving God with all your mind: logic and creation

Loving God with all your mind: logic and creation

Logic and reason are far from being incompatible with biblical Christianity. Rather, they are essential. Without them it is impossible to deduce anything from the true propositions of the 66 books of Scripture, the Christian’s final authority. This applies to Creation, one of the foundational doctrines of Christianity. Examples of valid and fallacious reasoning are discussed, with emphasis on showing how logical reasoning can support the truth of biblical creation, and demonstrate the fallacies in many evolutionists’ arguments.

Logic is the science of the relations between propositions. Logic can tell us what can be inferred from a given proposition, but it cannot tell us whether the given proposition is true in the first place. All philosophical systems rely on logical deductions from starting assumptions—axioms—which, by definition, cannot be proven from prior assumption. For our axioms, it is rational to accept the propositions revealed by the infallible God in the 66 books of the bible.

Adopting God’s Mind-Set.

All things bright and beautiful

All creatures great and small

All things bright and wonderful

The Lord God made them all!

He gave us eyes to see them and lips that we might tell

All things bright and wonderful

The Lord God made them all!

The above nursery rhyme sounds to most as a cliché, sung mostly to children but the thought of its lyrics is reality for me and should be for us because it’s His thought on creation. After creating all, God said that everything was good. Everything is beautiful, God’s Word says of you that you were beautifully and fearfully made. Seeing God’s Word as written for our daily living is a thought pattern we must develop for living life.

The Bible says, “… as a man thinks, so is he.” Your thought life is your real life. You become what you think, so allowing wrong, negative and deceptive lies from the enemy or philosophies of this world to flood your thoughts will determine your life style. Reflection of your thoughts is meditation, the way you think is your perception of things, that’s why you act out your thoughts. What you allow to grow or linger in your mind takes control of you.

Our focal Scripture, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4,5).

To adopt God’s mind-set (thought pattern) is to meditate on the Word of God and believe it, then you will act as His Word declares of you. No failure, impossibility and imperfections because you are complete in Him who is the head of all principalities and powers! And furthermore, Christ has given us the authority to use His power to destroy the works of the devil and over all powers of darkness / enemy here on earth. You are above only and never beneath.

That power is the Word of God! You can only counter a wrong thought by speaking the Word of God that negates such imagination: that is, cast them down! You have to use the power given you in Christ to trample and pull down ungodly mind-sets. Those thoughts that say you are a loser, you cannot make it, you are too small, you are not good enough, not smart enough, you are not intelligent, it’s not for people like you, you cannot attain that level of excellence, live as you feel because God does not care about you, among so many thoughts, are strongholds trying to exalt themselves above God’s truth (the Word) that calls you more than a conqueror, victorious , heir to the kingdom, royal priesthood ,chosen nation and a peculiar people, graced, blessed, head and not tail, light and salt to the earth, carrier of His divine nature ( being) , anointed and prosperous! Awesome!!!

Using the Word through meditation builds your faith to action always. As you think upon it, the bigger it becomes and it floods your mind with its possibilities and you become the stronghold for the enemy and all his devices cannot hold you bound because you have been set free by the Truth! The devil is a liar and the father of all lies. If God does not say it, then it’s not true. Strongholds are created in the mind and the battlefield is in the mind, so the Scriptures advise us to guide our heart / mind diligently. Watch the words and thoughts that you allow into your heart.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things – (Philippians 4:8),
