What does it mean to be a secular Christian?

Image
What does it mean to be a secular Christian? Contradiction in terms. A Christian by definition accepts that the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ actually did something wonderful for humanity and the rest of the moral universe, If Jesus isn’t God then He was nothing more than a criminally suicidal lunatic (or a legend which is what Dawkins actually believes and how he can get away with coining  the term “secular Christian” to confuse the rest of us.). The term is an oxymoron, that is to say that it is self-contradicting. It basically describes a person who goes to church service regularly, lives by the norms of decent western society, and may believe in God, but doesn’t live as a bible-based follower of Christ. This is in contrast to a, “carnal Christian” (another oxymoron), which is a person who divulges in the, “sins of the flesh” like drinking and immorality but still considers themselves, “Christian”. Note that both are definitely not Christians according to scripture. It means

JUST A THOUGHT

Image
JUST A THOUGHT For all of the unlearnt Christians.I was sitting in my office today, and a thought came to my mind. I was thinking of all the Christians who believe that there church can save them or they can be saved from the judgement to come or the structure of the building can save them on judgement day.You better wake up,and wake up soon, and very quick. The structure of the building cannot save  you for it's not the church you are.You better wake up from your sleep. For church people cannot save themselves or save it self on the day of judgement. Worse! if you're one of those who believe that the Pastors words can save you BAD NEWS,he cannot even save himself from the wrath to come if he's living a life that is contrary to the word of GOD ,so what are you going to believe.I believe that's the question?. . ,And just in case you do not know or you're not sure. The answer is quite clear THE WORD OF GOD the Holy word of God,but in case you do not want to be sure, and yo

"What does the Bible say about when God will judge us?"

Image
"What does the Bible say about when God will judge us?" There are two separate judgments. Believers are judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10-12). Every believer will give an account of himself, and the Lord will judge the decisions he made—including those concerning issues of conscience. This judgment does not determine salvation, which is by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), but rath er is the time when believers must give an account of their lives in service to Christ. Our position in Christ is the “foundation” spoken of in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. That which we build upon the foundation can be the “gold, silver, and precious stones” of good works in Christ’s name, obedience and fruitfulness—dedicated spiritual service to glorify God and build the church. Or what we build on the foundation may be the “wood, hay and stubble” of worthless, frivolous, shallow activity with no spiritual value. The Judgment Seat of Christ will reveal this. The gold, silver and preciou

Was God's Law Nailed to the Cross?

Image
Was God's Law Nailed to the Cross?. In their struggle to find a New Testament scripture that supports their misconception that God's law is "done away," many people point to Colossians 2:14 to "prove" that Christ nailed the law of God to the cross. In fact, this verse becomes a major linchpin in their fallacious argument that Christians are not required to keep God's "harsh Old Testament law." Pr oponents of such a teaching say that the "handwriting of requirements [ordinances, KJV]" refers to the law "that was against us." They further claim that Christ "took it out of the way" or abolished the law. Does Colossians 2:14 do away with God's law? What is "the handwriting of requirements"? What really was "nailed . . . to the cross"? Let's carefully examine this scripture to see what Paul is truly saying. First of all, note the context. In verses 11-13, Paul explains what Christ did for us

I just want

Image
I just want to share a little truth with all the Christians were ever you may be,and who ever you may be,and as long as we travel on life's little journeys, and as we journey along life's highways and byways which is very good ,and seeing we're follows of CHRIST,and you were told by your individual churches that when you're baptized you are saved right there and then, and seeing that this is ,so far   from the truth."Wow" The only truth is this your baptism that you just had all,and what it did is that it shows that you have made a declaration to separate yourselves from the world, and to follow Christ, and Christ is now the LORD of your life, and not the devil and the things of this world you no longer run after, but you now run after the things of the LORD. On judgement day when you are or before the great tribulation. When we're caught up to be with CHRIST in the air that is when you are saved, and not before then, and just in case you do not believe me please

"What does it mean to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15)?"

Image
"What does it mean to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15)?" Christians often talk about the need to “speak the truth in love,” a command found in Ephesians 4:15. Many times what they mean is the need to share difficult truths in a gentle, kind, inoffensive manner. From a practical standpoint, we know that difficult things are best heard when our defenses are not up. In a loving, non-threaten ing environment, hard truths are more readily received. So it is biblical to share hard truths with others “in love,” in the manner that the phrase is commonly used. Looking at the context of Ephesians 4:15, however, gives us deeper insight on what it means to “speak the truth in love.” In the verses prior to the command to speak the truth in love, Paul writes about unity in the body of Christ. He urges the Ephesians, and all Christians by extension, to “live a life worthy of the calling you have received” (Ephesians 4:1). He describes this life as one in which we are humble, gentle

My Opinion!?

Image
My Opinion!? I am curious here for one of the BIGGEST lies that individuals in the body of Christ tell each other in the church daily or on the sabbath when they come together to worship. Is that they claim to have the love of God within them, and that is a blatant lie of the HIGHEST kind. The reason WHY I say this is founded in ( Psalms 51:5 : Kjv ( Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me) ,So this only means that a diluted version of a carnal human understanding of fickleness is what is given to us as we're growing up,and lied to,and told that this is love. This falesness or lies becomes us,and this is what we give each other, and call it the love of God,and that is where the BIG lie comes in. ,So the sad part here is that this kind of love, and the love of GOD they do not match, and the character references of each of them are not even close. Revelation 3:17 (Niv) 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not r

For The last shall be first

Image
For The last shall be first The teaching implies that those who have prospered through wickedness will fail, whereas the good who have suffered for the sake of God will win salvation . What is the meaning of last shall be first and the first, last? Does Matthew 19:30 mean that Christians who are first in this life will be last in the kingdom and Christians who are last in this life will be first in the kingdom?. The phrase “first will be last and the last, first” can be found in four major passages of the Bible: Matthew 19:30; 20:16; Mark 10:31 and Luke 13:30. Both Matthew 19:30 and Mark 10:31 are about the same parable. There are only two different events. The first time the phrase “first will be last and the last will be first” occurs in scripture is in Matthew 19:29-30. It introduces a parable which begins and ends with this phrase. Jesus had just told the disciples that it was hard for a wealthy person to enter heaven (Matt. 19:23-26). The Jews believed that wealthy people could g

Why Don’t Christians Love Each Other?

Image
Why Don’t Christians Love Each Other? Why don’t Christians love each other? Oh, I’m not talking about the 1 in 100 example from all the Christians you know who actually do love other Christians in their daily life. I’m speaking in general terms here. Why don’t Christians love each other? Maybe your reading this and thinking: Well, of course, Christians love each other, Marc. I go to a church tha t is filled with people I love and these people are so kind to me and are people who love me. We bring each other meals when we are sick, we give money for church projects and we go to lunch at Restaurant’s after service and have a wonderful time. Yes, I get that. But why don’t Christians love each other? I’m not interested in hearing about you how you think your friends are proof when ordinary kindnesses are involved. I think you’ll find that your friends are probably more surface driven than you realize. I think you’ll see that their likely more interested in having a pleasant time with you

Heaven Rejoices.

Image
Heaven Rejoices. King James Bible I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.Luke 15:7. Man has had all sorts of thoughts about God and His heavenly creatures. There is no shortage of songs and paintings about the heavenly realm. But, what is actually going on up there? Is heaven really interested in what is going on down here? Jesus lets us in on the happenings of heaven in Luke 15. And what we discover might surprise us. What do we see when we look through the heavenly window Christ opens? Heaven rejoicing when a sinner repents. We see a number of things about heaven’s joy in Jesus’ teaching. We learn that all of heaven rejoices. It is not as if there is simply one angel rejoicing, like he’s the evangelistic MVP of the angelic team. Jesus says in verse 10, “Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God.” We might not know all that we would like to know about a

"What is the blessed hope?"

Image
"What is the blessed hope?" Titus 2:12–13 says that the grace of God teaches us “to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.” This passage identifies the “blessed hope” as the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ, our great God and Savior. The word blessed can mean “ha ppy” or “beneficial”; our hope is “blessed” in that Jesus’ return will be an amazing, joyful experience for the believer in Christ. We will be blessed beyond measure when we see Christ. The trials of this life will be over, and we will see that “our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18). The word hope does not communicate uncertainty, as in “I hope that something might occur”; rather, it is the glad assurance that something will take place. Jesus is our hope, and no one can take that hope away. “Hope does not put us to sh

Does Hell Exist

Image
Does Hell Exist Does Hell Exist - What does the Old Testament say? Does Hell exist? A proper biblical worldview includes a belief in a real, eternal, and physical hell. What do you believe? It is very interesting to discover that there are more Bible verses about Hell than there are about Heaven. Here are a few verses in the Old Testament about Hell. Daniel 12:2 proclaims, "Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt." Hell is described here as everlasting. Isaiah 66:24 declares, "And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind." In this Scripture, hell is described as a place where the fire is not quenched. Deuteronomy 32:22 portrays hell as a place where God pours out His wrath, "For a fire is kindled in My anger, and shall burn to the lowest h

Truth and the Bible.

Image
Truth and the Bible. Asking if the Bible is true, means that we need to have some understanding of truth. What is truth? While this question is often presented as a deep philosophical puzzle suitable only for the “brainy” to tackle, the answer is not so complex. Truth is what corresponds to reality. Consequently, what is real is true, what is unreal is false. The Bible makes some very distinctive truth claims. It claims, for instance, that God exists. It also claims that He has chosen to communicate with us through His creation, our moral conscience, and via the Bible. Jesus claimed to be God in the flesh and that the only way for human beings to be saved is through Him (John 14:6). Moreover, the death and resurrection of Jesus are also key to Christian theology. These claims the Bible makes either correspond to reality or they do not. Christians believe that they do correspond to reality, meaning that the Bible is true. God really exists, Jesus is not a myth, and the resurrection rea

What does Bible say about friendship?.

Image
What does Bible say about friendship?. Proverbs 18:24 NIV A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 13:20 NIV He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harms. #3 John 15:13 NIV Greater Love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. "How can a friend stick closer than a brother ( Proverbs 18:24)?" Proverbs 18:24 teaches, “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, / but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Given the fact that we normally think of blood being thicker than water, this proverb is rather jarring: there are ways that a friend can be more faithful than a brother. The ESV translates the first line of the proverb this way: “A man of many companions may come to ruin.” In any translation the emphasis is on the plurality of friends. A person with many friends may still run into problems. A large number of friends does not equal h

"What is true friendship according to the Bible?"

Image
"What is true friendship according to the Bible?" The Lord Jesus Christ gave us the definition of a true friend: "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Fa ther I have made known to you" (John 15:13-15). Jesus is the pure example of a true friend, for He laid down His life for His "friends." What is more, anyone may become His friend by trusting in Him as his personal savior, being born again and receiving new life in Him. There is an example of true friendship between David and Saul’s son Jonathan, who, in spite of his father Saul’s pursuit of David and attempts to kill him, stood by his friend. You will find that story in 1 Samuel chapter 18 through chapter 20. Some pertinent passages are 1 Samuel 18:1-4; 19: 4-7;

A “worldly Christian”

Image
A “worldly Christian” is a person who has put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, but still clings to his or her old ways of living. Their behavior and their attitudes aren’t much different from those of their unbelieving neighbors, and their motives and goals seldom take God into account. A Warning Sign – 1 Corinthians 2:14-15 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come f rom the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment. Are You a Carnal Christian? Does that describe you? If so, would you like to change? There was a time, perhaps, when you were a spiritual Christian. You still had your first love; a fire burned in your heart for God. But something has happened along the way, something has disturbed your relationship with God, and you no longer know the joy, the peace and the thrill t

No Greater Love

Image
No Greater Love. The term no greater love is derived from a well-known verse of the New Testament (John 15): "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13), often invoked in the context of self-sacrifice. Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for a friend. The final sentence of this inspiring story is, of course, paraphrased  from the Bible, from John 15:13. This scripture from the Revised Standard Version reads, "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." This scripture raises many questions: When Jesus said this, was He just referring to Himself and His own sacrifice? Or was He again foretelling how His disciples and many other Christians would die? Must all true Christians literally die for their friends? What was Jesus telling His people here? We need examine this scripture to understand in what way or ways we, as Christians at the end of this twentiet
